Community medicine!!!

Phew!! what a week... community medicine is totally tiring... not because of the amount of stuff that we have to study (practically nothing much to read)... it's because of the amount of time we have to spend traveling around in car or school van!! everyday is just like going for holiday or vacation...

We visited Kemaman Port on the 1st day (to understand port health)... i think we spend almost 2 hours just to travel from UCSI campus to Kemaman... At 1st I was quite excited (I taught we get to go on ships and do some interesting visit)... Mana tau end up we go there just to see 2 traps!!! WTH... (which is ovitrap and rat trap) and we are not even near the ship!! come on larhhh... I can see those trap at A LOT of place leh... No need to go until Kemaman... waste petrol only... LOL...

Group photo at Port Kemaman... that's the nearest we can get to a ship!! LOL

ovitrap!! use to catch Aedes Agypti... I think it end up being a breeding spot!! so many mosquito there... =.=

Well... at least we got a very nice medical assistant there (Mr. Zulkifli) which is a very nice guy and he explain to us in quite a professional way... although as usual they can't really communicate in english LARH!! at least he know his stuff and able to put those information inside my brain... (hopefully those knowledge will stay in my brain until my exam!!)

Mr. Zulkifli showing us the rat trap... LOL!!

The best part of Kemaman visit is we get to go "kai kai" at Mesra Mall on our way back and believe it or not it's suggested by Dr. Eugenie (1 and half hour from KT town)... We get to "visit" the new cinema (and it's also the nearest cinema from KT)... We even crazy enough to take picture outside the cinema and feel very malu after that as there's a lot other people there looking at us!! HAHAHA!!

nearest cinema from KT... 1 n half hours away~

Second day we visited occupational rehab centre, Terengganu dumping site and Keropok Lekor factory... Unfortunately the school did not provide us with any transport and we have to drive there ourselves (lucky I'm not the driver)... Overall it's interesting and we get to makan anywhere we go... They really like to prepare food for us leh!! Nothing much to mention... Just that the keropok lekor factory is really unhygienic... Houseflies and wasps flying everywhere and they still manage to get business approval from Ministry of Health... Pro!!

great variety of fish for keropok lekor... if u look closely u may find there's high amount of flies and bees!!

processing the keropok...

hmmm... keropok lekor... got appetite? still... it's very nice to eat...

makan time!! FYI... food is very nice... especially the mee goreng!!

after the nice food~ introducing the dumping site of Terengganu... and 4 cute group mates... hahaha!!

A very friendly participant at occupational rehab centre...

Third day was awesome for me... This is the very 1st time I actually really communicate with a psychological problem patient... Totally different way of communication and require lots of patience and skills... The 1st patient we visited actually quite nice... although he is a bit shy but the moment when he smile the whole environment is just great!! (Besides, he told us he heard voices to ask him to go to the mosque!) Hmmm... Something actually come across my mind the very 1st moment I heard it... but I think it's not nice to post it here... Feel free to ask me what it is if any of u interested to know... hahahaha!

Group photo during patient house visit!! the patient can make real nice baju kurung!!

Another home visit patient!

Nothing much for 4th and 5th day... Just some simple visit to clinics and hospital... I think that's about it for this week... Gonna grab some rest for tmr's trip to Pulau Perhentian!! A place i always wanted to go since I'm still a little kid... Islands and beach is just awesome!! Must pray for good weather!!

4 idiots~

4 cows on our way back~

PS~ 3 weeks to holiday!! woohooo!! deepa deepa deepa~
